Copyright is a closed system.
Promotes bipolar positions “I [Customer] own/you [Vendor] own”
In many circumstances *both* of these is a customer loss. However, one is also a vendor win, the other a vendor loss;
Prejudiced in favour of “big bang” and against incremental development;
Prejudiced in favour of single creator and against collaborative creation.
Theory underpinned by sale value rather than use value of product.
Vendor value comes through controlling distribution channels.
Customer value comes through fostering community use of product [but - competitive differentiators]
